Getting Balance Back In Our Diet
Some scientists believe that our ancestors evolved on a diet that had an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of one-to-one. Times have changed and our diet today can have a ratio as high as twenty-to-one in favour of omega-6’s. A number of researchers believe that this shift and lack of balance is responsible for an increased incidence in a number of diseases. They believe we need to shift our diet back towards a better balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which is why eating more seafood is important. Clinical research is certainly indicating that omega-3’s can play a role in combating a number of diseases.
